Be Authentic
Meeting people is one of my fav pastimes. Have you ever met someone and immediately liked, I mean really liked, them?
Those people are usually living an authentic life. They don’t apologize for who they are – nor do they try to please anyone. They simply know from their core who they are and what purpose they are here to serve. It’s like a couture gown – a perfect fit.
I love this quote: “Authenticity is everything! You have to wake up every day and look in the mirror and you want to be proud of the person who’s looking back at you. And you can only do that if you’re being honest with yourself and being a person of high character. You have an opportunity every single day to write that story of your life.” – Aaron Rodgers
Are you waking up each morning realizing we have a choice to make? Some people think the first choice they need to make is whether or not to hit the snooze. I have a feeling that is not you.
What if, after opening your eyes, it’s to acknowledge how grateful you are to be alive and then decide how to write the story of your day?
And to continue doing that day after day so you become naturally or authentically you. You don’t apologize for who you are, nor what you think, nor how you feel and you see others with love and gratitude.
What would that feel like, really feel like from deep within you?
Sometimes women feel the need to be what “others expect” them to be and soon they lose touch with their authentic self. This might go on for years, decades even.
I believe it’s part of us – just like your DNA, your identity and worth digging deep to reconnect to it.
After all, the world needs you. There is no one else quite like you and hiding would be a crime (ok, I’m exaggerating – but you get the point).
