The Vincent family’s story is a testament to the power of trusting one’s instincts and desires, and how doing so shaped their collective transformation and moved the family across the country.
Gina Maier Vincent’s no-nonsense attitude and empathetic personality found a natural fit in the fashion world. She earned her degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan while her future husband, Mark, pursued his MD at the Medical College of Virginia. Their paths converged after they accepted job relocations to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Married in 1999, they later gave birth to their son, Kai, and adopted their beautiful daughter, Sonia, from Guatemala. Life was exactly as they had envisioned. However, the family was about to encounter a defining challenge.
In 2009, Mark fell seriously ill, and the healthcare system seemed to be keeping them trapped in circles of bureaucracy. With their dreams quickly unraveling, Gina felt called to take a stand for Mark seeing Kai and Sonia—only six and two years old at the time—grow up. And she stood 100% for her and Mark, walking hand-in-hand in the sand on the West Coast, where they had long hoped to one day live.
Gina’s determination, insight, and spiritual strength made her a relentless advocate for Mark’s health while the kids were too young to understand the implications and Mark was surviving solely on dialysis. After nearly nine grueling months that challenged the family’s resolve, Mark finally received the life-saving kidney and liver transplant he needed.
Flash forward to the present day, and the Vincent family is living a deeper, more meaningful, and fulfilling life! Since moving into the home of their dreams in Coto de Caza three years ago, the family has settled into the OC lifestyle; they enjoy paddleboarding around Newport Harbor, spending the day at the beach, and visiting new sites and restaurants.
Kai is now a senior studying design, business, and engineering at USC, and he aspires to work in the aviation industry after graduation. Sonia is entering her senior year at Tesoro High School, and she loves to dance competitively at Center Stage Dance and Performing Arts. When they’re home together, the two enjoy cooking meals for family and friends!
Mark works for a large life insurance company full-time as a Medical Director, and he enjoys the opportunity to continue seeing patients a couple of days a month at Marque Medical. When he’s not working, he can be found swimming at the Coto Country Club and has recently taken up pickleball.
Drawing from her past training as a yoga teacher, a lifetime of self-improvement studies and what she discovered during Mark’s health journey, Gina founded Exquisitely Aligned, a business dedicated to helping clients reconnect with their purpose and joy by trusting their intuition and inner values. Her empathetic yet straightforward approach, influenced by her New Yorker roots, enables her to get to the heart of matters swiftly.
Now she can be seen as the host of the Exquisitely Aligned show available on Experts & Authors TV and can be heard as the voice behind the Exquisitely Aligned podcast. She also works one-on-one with clients with a variety of programs. Recently, Gina launched ”PURPOSE, POSSIBILITIES & PROSECCO,” a two-hour private, transformational session to boost your life and business. For older teens, she offers “COLLEGE, CAREER & CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS.”
Gina’s passion lies in helping people discover their purpose and motivation in every aspect of their lives, and her engaging and enlightening approach has garnered her a reputation as an inspiring transformational expert.
In October, the couple will celebrate their 24th anniversary! And in November, Mark will celebrate the 14th anniversary of his life-saving surgery with much gratitude to his donor: a woman whose name they don’t know and whose family they’ve never met, but who has allowed this family’s dreams to become a reality.
Residing in Coto de Caza is truly a dream realized for the Vincents! The family cherishes the peaceful surroundings, friendly neighbors, and vibrant local scene. They embrace an active lifestyle—whether walking the neighborhood or out on the town with friends—and always welcome the opportunity to meet new people. So, if you come across the Vincent family during their adventures, don’t hesitate to say hello!
